FAM had a booth again this year in the Home Tent.  Despite thunder and lightning and more than a little rain, the event was a success.  Staff from Boys and Girls Village, Casey Family Services, Community Residences Inc, the Department of Children and Families and New Opportunities Inc. all worked together to recruit foster and adoptive families.   Staff from the Connecticut Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents as well as foster and adoptive parent volunteers also manned the booth.  Our volunteers focused on CT's growing need for medically complex foster homes as well as adolescent foster homes. Many families stopped by throughout the weekend to pick up information on foster care and special needs adoption and to ask questions.  Staff responded to their inquiries and signed up folks ready to become resources for CT's foster children.  What a successful weekend!  The cheerful, cooperative spirit of our dedicated volunteers makes all things possible.
